Lynn’s journey with Tri Delta began at Texas Christian University, but her dedication to the sisterhood has lasted a lifetime. A native of Galveston, Texas, who grew up in Austin, Lynn spent much of her post-college life in Fort Worth, with nine years living elsewhere. In 2011, she returned to school to earn a master’s degree in sustainability, which helped shape her next chapter—a remarkable career as an etiquette and protocol trainer. Her natural talent for training led her to establish her own business, all while balancing life as a mother, stepmother and grandmother.
Lynn’s passion for Tri Delta has spanned decades and countless roles, from serving as a new member advisor right after college to holding positions in housing and finance and as a collegiate chapter coordinator. She now continues her dedication as a volunteer cultivation specialist for Region 6.
What made you decide to volunteer for Tri Delta?
“The advisors I had in college were incredible mentors. They set an example of leadership, kindness and support, and I thought, ‘That’s what you do—you give back.’ Many of them are still in my life today, and I wanted to follow in their footsteps. Tri Delta saw potential in me that I didn’t even see in myself, and every role I’ve taken on has challenged me in the best ways. I’ve never had a Tri Delta job I didn’t love, and that’s what keeps me coming back!”
What do you love most about your current position?
“I love meeting Tri Deltas I’ve never crossed paths with before and helping them find ways to get involved. We’re like a welcome wagon for volunteers! My role is about making connections, finding the right fit and ensuring every member who wants to give back has a place to do so. It makes my heart so happy to see how technology has made it easier to bring volunteers together in ways we only dreamed about years ago.”
What do you get most out of volunteering?
“Friendships—true, lifelong friendships. In college, you know it’s going to be great, but as an alumna, it’s even more incredible. It’s like having a personal board of directors for your life. The women I’ve met are some of the smartest, most generous and inspiring people I know. Volunteering has introduced me to people I wouldn’t have met otherwise, and I’m learning something new every day.”
What is your most memorable experience as a volunteer?
“There isn’t just one moment—it’s all memorable. Every conversation, every connection, every lesson learned keeps me coming back. The little moments add up to something much bigger, and I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.”
What advice do you have for other Tri Deltas thinking about volunteering?
“There’s always a way to be involved, whether locally or nationally. Even if life gets busy and you need to take a step back, there’s a place for you when you’re ready to return. Tri Delta is for life. If you’re thinking about volunteering, just go to My Tri Delta, fill out your information and take that first step. You won’t regret it.”
