Each month, Tri Delta publishes In Memoriam, highlighting the lives of some of our Distinguished Deltas and longtime volunteers and sharing a full list of sisters who have recently passed away. Below is the In Memoriam for October 2021.
Nancy Bonner, Ohio Wesleyan
Tri Delta was saddened to learn of the death of alumna Nancy Bonner, Ohio Wesleyan, on Oct. 4, 2021. Nancy obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and economics from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1974 and began her career with GE Company, graduating from GE’s Financial Management Program.
At GE, Nancy had a four-year assignment as a corporate auditor in the U.S., Brazil and Singapore. She would then go on to hold several high-level position at GE, including CFO of GE semiconductor plant in Dundalk, Ireland, and CFO of Sales Distribution and Marketing for GE Appliances.
In 1991 Nancy joined Banc One Corporation, Columbus, Ohio, as Vice President for Financial Manpower Development and was later promoted to Vice President of Executive Development and then named Vice President – New Business Development. In 1996, Nancy moved to San Francisco, California to join Transamerica Corporation as Vice President-Executive Development.
In 2000 Nancy returned to school full time, and in January 2003 she received an AA degree in culinary management from College of the Desert, Palm Desert, California. In 2003-2005 Nancy was Personal Chef for Former President and Mrs. Gerald Ford at their residences in Rancho Mirage, California and Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Throughout her career Nancy was involved in the United Way and was also co-founder of the Columbus, Ohio, chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf League. Nancy enjoyed speed walking, golf, cooking, reading and attending the arts.
