Each month, Tri Delta publishes In Memoriam, highlighting the lives of some of our Distinguished Deltas and longtime volunteers and sharing a full list of sisters who have recently passed away. Below is the In Memoriam for April 2022.
Eleanor Harder, California/Los Angeles
Tri Delta alumna Eleanor (Ellie) Harder, California/Los Angeles, passed away on April 7, at the age of 97. She was a talented writer and musician who, along with her husband Raymond, collaborated on writing many musical plays for children and adults. Their published works have been performed all over the world, delighting audiences young and old for over 65 years.
A graduate of UCLA where she joined Tri Delta’s Theta Pi Chapter, Eleanor returned to UCLA to teach writing classes for the extension program. She had a varied career, writing cartoons for Hanna Barbera, writing and recording human interest stories for KCBS radio, publishing a children’s book and much more.
Eleanor’s wit, musical talent and entertaining nature made her a delight to all no matter the occasion.
