6:30 p.m. – Closing Session
Tri Delta’s Foundation Board Chair Stacey Dickenson Cox, Southern Methodist, is on hand to announce the total amount raised for Tri Delta’s Foundation this weekend: more than $72,000 was raised during Convention!
In honor of this fundraising milestone, and as a very special Convention surprise, Tri Delta’s own Senior Director of Chapter Operations Lucy Moran, Simpson—donning a flight suit and aviators—takes the stage with a special guest, Ricky James, husband of Fraternity President Megan Shaw James—dressed in his navy uniform—to sing a special duet of “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling” from “Top Gun”—with help from the audience.
Then, Megan takes the stage to celebrate a special Convention tradition recognizing those who have attended the most Conventions over the years. The following attendees are recognized for having attended more than 20 Conventions:
Bernie Amberg
Donna Larson
Eve Woods Riley
Mary Estelle Amberg
Next up, it’s time for the moment everyone’s been waiting for… the announcement of Convention 2024. Megan brings Ricky back on stage with their kids, Henry and Catherine, to assist. Clues are in their costumes: Henry is dressed as Harry Potter while Catherine wears a princess costume.
That’s right, Tri Delta is going “Back to the Future” to our original Convention 2020 location: Orlando, Florida! We hope you’ll join us for Tri Delta’s 61st Biennial Convention July 11-14, 2024.
Finally, we will end Convention with a Tri Delta tradition: Candle lighting and roll call. Incoming Executive Board members Elizabeth DiMartino and Leah Jochim take the stage to conduct roll call.
Convention officially concludes with one final singing of Alpha Theta Phi.
Following our closing session, sisters are enjoying a night under the actual crescent moon and stars! Campfires and ‘smores await for a final night of sisterhood to close the incredible weekend we’ve had together in San Diego.
See you in Orlando!
1:00 p.m. – Officer Installation
We’ve just concluded the business meeting where delegates passed our Bylaws amendments, our LEADDD Always Business Resolution and elected Tri Delta’s leadership for the next biennium.
Past Fraternity President Kimberlee Di Fede Sullivan, Pepperdine, takes the stage to officially install Tri Delta’s 2022-24 Executive Board. Congratulations to our newest Fraternity leaders—we thank them for their vision and service to our sisterhood!
Up next, we’re enjoying a free afternoon in San DDDiego! Sisters are taking a break from business to enjoy an afternoon of sisterhood and fun, whether they’re hoping on an Old Town Trolley Tour or seeing the city via a SEAL tour. We’ll be back tonight with our closing session and a night under the crescent moon and stars!
9:50 a.m. – Business Meeting
This morning, delegates are meeting to conduct the official business of the Fraternity. Fraternity President Megan Shaw James, Millsaps, thanks our collegiate and alumnae delegates for representing their chapters and for ensuring a strong future for our organization, as she calls to order the official Business Meeting of the 60th Convention of Delta Delta Delta.
We’ll be back with updates once the business meeting concludes!
