What is Volunteer Leadership Conference?
- Volunteer Leadership Conference (VLC) is Tri Delta’s biennial training and development conference for Tri Delta volunteers. VLC includes job-specific training tracks, an enterprise update featuring Fraternity, Housing and Foundation leaders, opportunities to gather as a region and a celebration of our beautiful Ritual.
- #DDDVLC is your chance to meet other dedicated Tri Delta volunteers from all over, share your experiences and best practices, and gain valuable skills and knowledge through our training tracks to help you serve your position, chapter and community even better.
When is VLC?
VLC will begin the evening of Friday, July 14, and end at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 16. Travel in on Thursday to participate in LEADDD Chicago on Friday, July 14.
Where is VLC 2023?
We’re taking VLC on the road! This year’s conference will be held at the Renaissance Schaumberg Convention Center Hotel just outside of Chicago, Illinois. The Renaissance is located just 15 minutes from Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
Who is invited to this year’s VLC?
The VLC 2023 experience will focus on collegiate chapter and national level volunteers whose roles affect the collegiate experience through recruitment, financial management and membership experience. The following volunteers, whose role begins July 1, 2023, are invited to attend VLC. Tri Delta will cover the cost of your transportation, double occupancy hotel and meals.

When does registration open?
- Registration for VLC opens on April 27 and closes on June 19. Register online HERE.
Is there a cost to attending VLC?
Your commitment as a volunteer plays a crucial role in the continued success and growth of Tri Delta. VLC is our opportunity to provide you with the skills needed for success. Tri Delta will cover transportation (economy class round-flight or mileage reimbursement at a rate of 65.5 cents per mile, up to $650), double occupancy hotel and meals for all participants. Attendees will cover the cost of an upgrade to a single room if chosen, luggage expenses, airport parking, transportation between airport and hotel and incidentals on travel days.
What meals are includes during VLC?
Friday: Happy hour with cash bar, dinner, dessert
Saturday: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, cash bar for evening “Wine” Down
Sunday: Breakfast
Attendees are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle and snacks for their room.

Is VLC required?
As a Tri Delta volunteer, you agreed to attend Tri Delta events including VLC and other trainings as requested. We understand things happen, so if you are not able to attend VLC, please communicate with your volunteer lead.
How do I register?
Invited volunteers can register HERE. Please use the email you use to access your My Tri Delta account.
How do I book my travel?
Travel will be booked through our partners at TripEasy. On the confirmation page of your registration, there will be a button with a link to book your travel through THIS website. You will need the event code provided on that page or in your invitation email, to access the website and book your travel. We recommend that you fly to Chicago O’Hare Airport (ORD) which is just 13 miles from the hotel. If you need agent support, or want to book a multi-city flight, please contact TripEasy at tridelta@its.com.
When should I arrive and depart?
If you are attending LEADDD Chicago, plan to arrive anytime on Thursday, or early Friday morning. LEADDD begins at 11:00 a.m. CT.
If you are attending VLC only, plan to arrive by 4:00 p.m. on Friday. There is an optional happy hour at 4:45 p.m. that overlaps with LEADDD. Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. CT and opening session at 7:00 p.m. CT.
VLC will end on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. We recommend flights that depart after 2:30 p.m.
How are hotel rooms handled?
Executive Office will make hotel reservations on your behalf, based on the details provided during registration.
Tri Delta will cover the cost of a double occupancy room for Friday and Saturday nights (and Thursday if attending LEADDD). If you do not list a preferred roommate, Executive Office will match you with another VLC attendee. You have the option to upgrade to a single room during registration for $100 per night.
Attendees will need a credit card to put on file at the hotel for incidentals.
What is the attire for VLC?
LEADDD: Business Casual
VLC Friday & Saturday: Tri Delta Casual
Many attendees take this opportunity to wear Tri Delta colors! Pants, sundresses, nice denim are appropriate.
VLC Sunday: Ritual Attire
White or pastel business attire. This can be dress pants, a dress, skirt, etc. in white, cream, or pastel shades.

When will alumnae chapter presidents receive training?
In order to allow for alumnae chapter presidents to represent their chapters as delegates to Convention AND to gain important training and development as Tri Delta leaders, we look forward to building out a more robust alumnae chapter officer experience at Convention 2024 in Orlando, Florida.
If I cannot attend VLC, can I send another volunteer in my place?
Advisors and house corporation presidents may send replacements if they are not able to attend VLC. We recommend working with your volunteer team to determine who that should be.
