Delta Demos provides chapters (and our Executive Office staff) the opportunity to share their ideas for programming, operations, recruitment, marketing, public relations and more! It’s also a chance to show off your chapter’s hard work and original ideas while contributing to making the Tri Delta experience all it can be for all our members. Each Delta Demo has its own unique code that can get you 10 points towards the ConQUEST!
Hosted by Collegiate Officers
St.Jude Soccer—Adelphi, Alpha Alpha
St. Jude Soccer is an exceptional event hosted by our chapter, unlike any other we’ve held before. We extend invitations not only to sororities, fraternities, and clubs from our school but also to neighboring schools. The tournament typically lasts 3-4 hours and includes brackets for the winning teams. Last year, we were thrilled to have a total of 12 teams of 8 players each join us!
St. Jude Clothing Sale—Cornell, Alpha Beta
In this initiative, we raise money for St. Jude while also getting our campus involved in a clothing sale. Donation buckets are placed in central student locations for several weeks to collect donations, which are then organized. Finally, we host the clothing sale, generating thousands of dollars for this philanthropic cause.
Maura’s Voice Initiative & Research—Florida State, Alpha Eta
Maura Binkley, a cherished member of the Florida State University Alpha Eta Chapter, tragically passed in 2018 in a Tallahassee hot yoga studio shooting, which shook our community, but her legacy of love and compassion lives on through our philanthropic efforts. Maura was not just a victim of senseless violence; she was a source of hope and understanding. Her dream of becoming a diplomat reflected her dedication to bridging divides and fostering positive change globally. In response to her untimely death, her parents founded Maura’s Voice, a platform dedicated to combating hatred and violence through research and advocacy. Through the establishment of the Maura’s Voice Research Fund, in collaboration with Maura’s father and the FSU College of Social Work, we aim to delve deeper into the complex issue of gun violence in America. This fund supports research endeavors aimed at understanding the root causes of firearm violence, particularly its intersection with mental health. By investing in rigorous scientific inquiry and evidence-based policymaking, we strive to effect meaningful change in our society’s approach to gun violence prevention. Through collaboration with experts at FSU and beyond, we hope to contribute to the development of comprehensive strategies that prioritize safety, mental health support, and community well-being. Maura’s Voice serves as a reminder that even in the face of tragedy, there is hope for a brighter future. Together, we will honor Maura’s memory by working tirelessly to create a world where love triumphs over hate.
Off-Campus Event Monitor Policy—Florida, Alpha Psi
The event monitor policy will be based on PC class. Seniors and Freshman will not be required to event monitor. Any older members in younger PCs will be classified as their PC. Priority will be given to senior academic class who are in younger PCs. This policy will requre that members are event monitors twice during their collegiate time. This means on event each year for Sophomores and Juniors. It is based on volunteer first, their name will be removed from the wheel for the year, and then any remaining monitors will be chosen from the wheel. The wheel will be spun and recorded so that it is based on fairness for the chapter to witness. At least one executive member and director will be event monitors at each social event.
Tap A Sister—Florida, Alpha Psi
“Tap A Sister,” is an activity played during recruitment work week and is intended to promote bonding and belongingness across member classes (MC).
Destination Dawgs—Georgia, Alpha Rho
Destination Dawgs is a program at UGA for 18-25-year-old students with intellectual disabilities who, along with familial support, aim to obtain independent living and career development skills. This past year, three members of this program joined the Panhellenic recruitment process, and Alpha Rho was fortunate enough to offer a bid to one of these individuals. During recruitment, our priority was to make sure these women felt welcome and comfortable at Tri Delta. During work week, we hosted workshops to teach our members how to converse compassionately with Destination Dawgs and ensure they have the necessary accommodations during recruitment. We’ve also formed a Destination Dawgs committee called “Tri Delta Girls” dedicated to supporting our members with intellectual disabilities. Our focus is on making this member feel safe, included, and loved, and we’re committed to improving this program further in the future.
TriWeekly/Resource of the Week—Cal State/Northridge, Beta Beta
Resource of the Week provides members with different resources offered by Tri Delta and our campus. Flyers are displayed during chapter meetings, linked in our weekly newsletter, and posted in the chapter house. TriWeekly, our weekly newsletter, is emailed to members and provides information for the upcoming week, officer announcements, and sister shoutouts.
Utilizing Analytics & the Professional Dashboard on Instagram—Illinois State, Beta Omicron
Throughout the 2023-2024 term, the PR team aimed to boost engagement on Instagram. By focusing on this, we have seen a huge increase in our overall following, recruitment efforts, and social media presence. One effective method we used was paid ads, especially during recruitment season. We ran two separate ads that were very successful. The first was in late July and was targeted to PNMS in the northern and central Illinois regions. It reached a total of 4,032 accounts, and the number of impressions (the number of times the post was on a screen) was 6,206. The second ad, just before recruitment in mid-August, targeted Illinois State University students moving into dorms. It got 5,916 impressions and reached 3,499 accounts, further boosting our engagement and visibility.
Fall Harvest Carnival for St. Jude—Transylvania, Beta Zeta
Our Director of Philanthropy introduced a new event called the Fall Harvest Carnival, held in November on campus. It was an outdoor event and featured approximately 10 booths offering various activities, including apple bobbing, football toss, and a highly successful silent auction. The event drew participants from the Lexington community, the Panhellenic community, as well as our members’ friends and family.
Delta DDDeclassified—Ottawa, Canada Delta
Each year, we create a book called Delta DDDeclassified to aid in new member integration. This resource introduces our executive team, features a letter from the president, includes a glossary, outlines important dates for new members, and more. It has proven to be a valuable resource, facilitating the integration of new members and providing them with useful information when needed!
Happy to help ya, here at Tri Delta!—Arkansas, Delta Iota
This year, we focused on caring for our members beyond Tri Delta-related events and activities. We’re committed to ensuring that our members feel supported in all areas of their lives. Our proactive advanced safety and risk awareness initiatives include creating group chats with members traveling together on the same fraternity formal trips or spring break destinations, providing our own safety programs, and much more.
Risk Plan—Louisiana State, Delta Omega
Creating a risk plan for a large chapter can be challenging. We’ll share more about how to create a risk management plan and keep members safe.
Sisterhood Video, St. Jude in Delaware, and Stuffed Animals—Ohio Wesleyan, Delta Upsilon
At the Delta Upsilon Chapter, we created an amazing sisterhood video to show during recruitment. This video featured clips from our recruitment workweek and included advice from seniors about the recruitment experience. In Delaware, Ohio, the downtown area hosts a monthly event called First Friday, drawing students, families, and locals to explore the streets and engage with local businesses. At this event, we set up a St. Jude table to inform the local community about our philanthropic efforts. At every chapter, we also recognize outstanding sisters each week by awarding stuffed animal lambs (DLAM) and dolphins (Director Dolphin) to those who demonstrated our Tri Delta values that week.
Tri Delta Career Fair—Missouri, Delta Xi
This year, we hosted our second annual Tri Delta Career Fair, aiming to boost our members’ professional growth right here in our chapter house. We invited local alumnae, university organizations, and senior members to help provide internship and involvement opportunities. We hosted a resume workshop with our university’s career center before the event. Additionally, we educated our members on professional dress codes and LinkedIn dos and don’ts. On the day of the event, we set up tables around the Tri Delta house for our 20 guests. We printed name tags for each table and sent our members a map of the table layout. Our Vice President of Membership Experience, Vice President of Chapter Programming and Development, and Director of Lifetime Experience worked to check in members and host our guests. We provided lunch for our vendors and wrote each organization a handwritten thank you note. Following the event, we had members involved in new organizations and clubs, and some even received internship offers.
End Period Poverty: Period Product Drive—Lake Forest, Epsilon Beta
End Period Poverty focuses on period poverty and how it affects those who menstruate. In addition to educating the chapter and community, we also host a period product drive with our local diaper bank, keeping Families Covered in Waukegan, Illinois. On campus, we host “tabling” events in which members encourage the community to donate any unused period products while educating how period poverty negatively impacts those who menstruate (including those in college). This past year, we donated $125 and three boxes full of donated period products.
The Kindness Project—Allegheny, Epsilon Iota
Our chapter designs and prints flyers with tear-off tabs featuring uplifting messages about mental health, self-care, and wellness. These flyers are strategically posted around campus, so students can take away kind messages from Tri Delta.
