Arlington, Texas -- Tri Delta's brand new home at the University of Florida in Gainesvile was awarded a beautification award from the city's beautification board.  The award is given in nine categories; Tri Delta won in the institutional facilities category.

The house has also won Outstanding Design in the 2008 American School & University Education Interiors Showcase in the residence hall category.

About the house
Delta Delta Delta began working with Treanor Architects in 2003, facilitating discussions of whether to renovate the chapter’s existing house or to build a new structure.  Rigorous examination of financial and programming needs as well as chapter and university tradition revealed that it would be in the organization’s best interest to build a new house at its current location.

The Neoclassical plantation-style home incorporates our organization’s goals, including current and future market viability.  The design strikes a balance between educational and non-educational space; between private, semi-private and public space; and between high-finish presentation and utilitarian areas.

The design makes use of cutting edge innovations in technology with respect to security and energy management.  It is the first Greek facility in the nation to utilize a fingerprint reader access control system, alleviating the issue of lost keys and cards.
